Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center
The Northern Arizona Center for Addiction is a nationally accredited and state licensed facility that provides individual, group and family counseling and assistance in the recovery of drug and alcohol addiction.
At NACA, our medical team uses a comprehensive, holistic approach to treat the disease of addiction. Every recovery is accomplished with an understanding of each individual’s unique therapeutic needs and challenges, in order to accurately assess all the causes of their addiction and determine the best path to sobriety. Our educated, caring staff uses established best practices, current research, specialized therapy plans, and a whole-person philosophy to heal the body, mind and spirit.
Upon admission, our clients receive a full psychiatric assessment to determine if any underlying psychiatric disorders may be complicating their ability to achieve and maintain sobriety. Additionally, our clients receive thorough physical examinations, and wellness and nutritional screenings to identify any concerns that may also need to be addressed during their treatment.
In conjunction with this physical workup, full laboratory panels are run to identify any irregularities that may be present in vitamin levels, thyroid function, liver and kidney function, lipid and glucose levels, as well as adrenal function and sex hormone levels. At the Northern Arizona Center for Addiction, we understand the connection and importance between these physiological components and their impact on a client’s ability to maintain healthy sobriety. Our medical staff not only utilizes various allopathic forms of treatment, they also monitor and provide homeopathic vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and herbs necessary to bring the body back into a balanced state.
The Northern Arizona Center for Addiction specializes in providing therapy and counseling for clients who have embarked on a path of healing and addiction recovery from chemical and alcohol dependency. Given the right tools, full recovery from addiction can be achieved and enjoyed.

The term “chemical dependency” is often used in conjunction with and at times interchangeably with other terms: chemically dependent, chemical dependence, alcoholism, addiction, substance abuse, substance dependence, drug habit, and drug addiction.
For our purposes at Northern Arizona Center for Addiction, chemical dependency refers to a primary illness or disease which is characterized by addiction to a mood-altering chemical. Chemical dependency includes both drug addiction and alcoholism. A chemically dependent person is unable to stop drinking or discontinue taking a particular mood-altering chemical despite serious health, economic, vocational, legal, spiritual, and social consequences. It is a disease that does not see age, sex, race, religion, or economic status. It does not discriminate. Chemical dependency is progressive and chronic and if left untreated can be fatal.
When a person is chemically dependent, they have lost the power of choice over using mood-altering chemicals. Their power to choose has been hijacked by potent chemicals that have rewired their brain to seek only more stimulation from the drug or alcohol. The chemical potency is so intense that it overrides normal sensations of happiness or contentment and a bigger and bigger dose of the drug is required to feel okay. Those suffering from addiction may be able to stop for awhile, but they will return to its use again and again, despite their best intentions and exertions of logic and willpower. For these reasons, chemical dependence on either alcohol or drugs can be a cunning, baffling, and powerful disease.
