What is an intervention?
A crisis intervention is a solution-oriented process where a licensed interventionist will sit down with an addict or alcoholic. The interventionist facilitates a discussion to try to persuade an addict or alcoholic to enter treatment, in order to address their substance abuse and overcome their addiction. During a crisis intervention, family, friends or loved ones will use the opportunity to demonstrate the extent to which the addictive behavior has negatively impacted them or their relationship with the patient.
While there has been a long-held belief that addicts must hit “rock-bottom” before they are able to accept or seek help, current research in the recovery and treatment community supports the belief that family and friends should intervene early, before sustained damage occurs to the individual or anybody else.

clinicians at Northern Arizona Center for Addiction, you can absolutely find a life beyond addiction.
When Do I Need An Intervention?
The Northern Arizona Center for Addiction knows that sometimes reaching out for help can be one of the hardest (yet most crucial) steps towards achieving long-term recovery from substance abuse. This is why we have teamed up with interventionists throughout the country in order to provide intervention services to families in need.
An experienced interventionist will be able to help the family by:
- Conducting pre-intervention preparation.
- Serving as a moderator during the intervention.
- Provide assistance in transitioning individuals into rehab programs after successful interventions.
If you have a loved one who is currently experiencing difficulties staying sober or whose addictive behavior has started to affect their lives as well as people close to them, call us. NACA will guide you to a qualified interventionist and help develop an individualized intervention plan so that we can provide the assistance needed to get your loved one through the door of a treatment center and on their way to a healthier, sober life.
If you are unsure whether an intervention is necessary, give us a call today or send us a message and one of our friendly staff members will be glad to speak to you.
